Driver Safety Expert Highlighted by ODU’s Launch Hampton Roads Business Start-Up Program
Suffolk, VA (October, 2015) – Driver Safety Expert, Hope Holman, CEO of Hope4myteen, LLC was highlighted in ODU’s October 2015 Business Spotlight. Mrs. Holman was a graduate of their Launch Hampton Roads Business Start-up Program.
Launch Hampton Roads is an effort part of the Virginia Employment Through Entrepreneurship Consortium (VETEC) to provide entrepreneurship training under the U.S. Department of Labor’s Workforce Innovation Fund. Its mission is to provide entrepreneurial training and resources to Workforce Investment Act eligible individuals throughout Hampton Roads and provide a community where aspiring entrepreneurs can access the tools needed to aid in their success.
Launch Hampton Roads highlighted Driver Safety Expert, Hope Holman, CEO of Hope4myteen, as their October Business Spotlight of the month. Hope Holman created driver safety tools and resources for parents of new teen drivers. While teaching her three teen drivers to master the road, she noted other drivers were unaware of her teen’s inexperience which led to excessive honking, tailgating, and getting cut off by other drivers. Driver Safety Expert, Hope Holman said, “My frustration mounted, as did other motorists. I came up with an idea to create reusable and removable TEEN DRIVER car decals and flags to warn other drivers that there are inexperienced drivers on the road. This would encourage other motorists to give them a break and parents could focus more on teaching their teen to drive. The reaction to these tools is overwhelmingly positive.”
