***Application Instructions***
- Preparing the Surface:
- Before affixing your magnetic sign to a metal surface, be sure all surfaces paints, clear coats, and waxes are cured (hardened). (Approximately curing times: paint – 90 days; clear coat – 60 days; wax – 2 days.)
- Clean the metallic surface and the magnet with a mild detergent. Wipe with a soft cloth and allow to dry to prevent your magnet from accidentally flying off your vehicle at high speeds.
- Determine the location to place the magnet. Do not apply the magnet on an area that is not steel, or that has extensive non-metallic fillers. (Aluminum, wood, stainless steel, or fiberglass will not function as a surface)
- Avoid use on horizontal metal surfaces exposed to direct sunlight (such as automobile hoods) or temperatures exceeding 150 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Use care in handling the magnet in extremely cold conditions, as the magnetic material can become brittle and will not grip the metal surface properly.
- Applying and Positioning Magnetic Sign:
- Attach the entire magnet on a smooth and flat metal surface. (Side or rear door panels)
- Do not place over protrusions (pinstripes, molding, ridge, trim, dents, or rust spots). This will create an air pocket causing the magnet to fly off the vehicle.
- Center the magnet horizontally on the panel and carefully affix one corner against the metal, then allow the magnetic pull to attach securely to the metal.
- Ensure there are no air pockets or moisture between the magnet and the vehicle surface and that the corners and edges are smooth and flush with the surface.
- Removing Magnet Signs:
- To adjust the location of the magnet after placement, remove carefully and reposition by lifting at the sides to remove.
- Do not pull or drag the magnet across the surface as it can stretch and damage the sign due to the resistance caused by the high magnetic strength.
- To remove the signs, do not bend or crease the corners, but carefully peel at the side edges and release the magnet. Avoid using sharp objects or fingernails to remove magnet.
- Remove the magnet for cleaning at least weekly, though some climates or conditions may require daily cleaning.
- Always remove your magnetic sign before going through a car wash. The water pressure and brushes can be strong enough to pull off the magnet.
- Cleaning and Storing Magnet Signs:
- Cleaning your car magnet on a regular basis will keep them looking attractive and new.
- Use a wet paper towel or soft cloth with mild detergent to clean both the magnet and metal surface to help with dirt spots and stains.
- Remove when not in use, as long-term outdoor exposure can cause fading.
- After cleaning the signs make sure they are completely dry before placing them back on the vehicle.
- Store magnet flat in a clean, dry place when not in use and avoid extreme temperatures.
- Avoid placing other objects on top of a stored magnet that could damage the face.
- Do not stack signs with the magnetic side facing each other when multiply magnets are stored together.
