“Out of my pain, came your solution!”
Hope4myteen, LLC was founded in 2011 as a result of having to teach my 3 teenagers to drive. My husband was often deployed and by default I was left with this responsibility. One of my most difficult moments arose when my oldest son, Tyrece, got his learner’s permit and needed to get behind the wheel. I quickly realized how nerve wrecking it was going to be when a motorist became agitated with my son’s driving and reacted by honking excessively, tailgating, and eventually darting around us. I cannot count the number of incidents we encountered by other insensitive drivers. Miraculously, we managed to survive our state’s (GDL) Graduated Driver’s License requirements of supervised driving, but not without an enormous amount of stress and driver frustration.
Immediately following Tyrece, my middle son, Tyrelle was up to bat. The stress and anxiety was all too familiar and would occur once again when repeating the process for my daughter, Faith. After enduring the same type of behavior from other motorists, it dawned on me no one was aware of my teen’s inexperience. It became my quest to find ways to alert other driver’s that a teen was behind the wheel as well as finding a way to help put parents at ease while their teen learned to drive.
The law requires teens to ride with parents or other licensed adults for a designated amount of hours during their initial licensing period. It makes sense that parents be afforded the opportunity to identify the vehicle of their “teen driver” just as private driving schools and high schools identify “student drivers” when a student is obtaining their permanent license. Hope4myteen, LLC went on to design safety awareness products (reflective/non-reflective vehicle car magnets) that are removable and reusable and (car window flags). These products are intended to encourage other motorists to be more patient and cautious around “Your Teen” while driving as well as to provide the parent with a level of comfort.
Hope4myteen, LLC is committed to making the roads a safer place for everyone and providing training solutions for parents with new teen drivers that will foster a safer driving environment for inexperienced teen drivers across the country.
WORDS FROM THE CEO
Many states began enacting Graduated Driver Licensing (GDL) laws during the 1990’s to reduce driver related fatalities among teenagers. GDL laws require teens to ride with parents or other licensed adults for a designated amount of hours during the initial licensing period. The teen driver must complete the required program hours before obtaining full driving privileges. Hope4MyTeen, LLC is the solution for parents concerned with or involved in keeping teen drivers safe. Automobile accidents are the #1 killer of teens in the United States, and Hope4myteen works passionately to change that statistic. We are committed to keeping teen drivers safe and helping parents navigate the roads with their teens. In short, we want to make the road safer for everyone.
VISION
To provide training solutions for parents with new teen drivers that will foster a safer driving environment for inexperienced teen drivers across the country.
